The trip to the movie house now offers many of us the latest in sight and sound technology.

But one State Senator says thousands of Kentuckians are missing out.
That’s why Senator Ray Jones has proposed a new bill that would require “closed captioning” for the hard of hearing at some movie theaters.

The bill seeks to require all cinemas with at least five screens to have at minimum of one screen with a closed captioning service.

It would also require there to be a number of different ways to offer the captioning service such as a device on the back of the seat a hand held device or words on the screen.

If the bill is passed it’s expected to offer a better green screen experience for 646,000 Kentuckians.
