It was just this Tuesday when a woman in distress sent a text message to the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center. She had been assaulted by two people who were still in her house. She needed help.
“Our dispatchers were able to communicate with her, get her name, get her address, where she was at and determined that the suspects were still there,” said J.R. Powell, director of the locality’s emergency communications center.
The woman never spoke a word to dispatchers.
